Data-driven" is currently one of the big buzzwords in education. Nonetheless, the logistical considerations of data mining are often unexplored. Even if the data is gathered, can a trainer or designer do anything about it? This presentation will discuss how open education and data mining can drive continuous quality improvement.

Seth Gurell is an Instructional Designer for Utah Valley University and a PhD candidate at Brigham Young University. Seth has published articles on the development and usage of Open Educational Resources (OER). He is also the principal author of the OER Handbook 1.0. In addition to academic work, Seth has developed training for companies and non-profit organizations.
